Daisy Lane Step-it-Up!

If you are new to stamping, this sweet little Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating Daisy medium punch is a great way to start.

Above left card: Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White heavy cardstock is the base. The base card is an 8-1/2”x11” cardstock, cut in half and folded to 4-1/4”x5-1/2”. I used a 1”x4-1/4” piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and a 4”x5” piece of Petal Pink cardstock for the daisy.

I like plump little daisies, so I punched 3 medium daisies, and stacked them up. For the center, I was mimicking the Gerbera Daisy in the below image board, and wanted a pop of green. I stamped the daisy with pear pizzazz on a small piece of cardstock, and used a 3/8” circle punch. You can easily cut the center out with scissors too.

Glue down your daisy or add a Stampin dimensionals to make it pop out. I then stamped the “Smile” sentiment with Pear Pizzazz ink for a simple finish.

Above middle card: To step it up, I used the Daisy Lane fern stamp on the bottom 3” of a piece of 4”x5-1/4” regular whisper white cardstock with the pear pizzazz ink. I then stamped the daisies with petal pink ink to get a little more definition to the petals. Then you just repeat the above instructions.

Left card: To add more pop, I used a 4”x5-1/4” piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, and my white piece was 3-3/4”x5”. I used Calypso Coral ink to stamp the daisy, and added 3 gold metallic pearls to add that subtle bling. Watch the video above for simple tips to help you on your way to become an accomplished stamper!

What inspires you??

When I start using a floral stamp set, I really like to look at natural images so I don’t get so hung up on my preconceived ideas of color. For years, a daisy was white…period! But living in Southern California and google (bless their heart), there are soooo many varieties of daisies and daisy shaped flowers, there is no limit to color. I do tend to get stuck trying to make my card floral’s look as natural as possible…something I think can hold me back a little, so research is my best tool. I created the image board to the right, and then listed all the flower names I could find so I can search the name if necessary, and to be reminded of the color. This gives me inspiration for so many projects to do with the sweet Daisy Lane set!

Friend

This sweet little Daisy Lane card came together in just minutes!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White heavy cardstock for the base, and another 4”x 5 1/4” sheet of the regular Whisper White for the top. For Inks, I used Sahara Sand and So Saffron.

The daisy I used the medium daisy punch. I wanted it filled with petals, so stamped 3 daisy’s with the Sahara Sand, punched them out and then stacked them for the full affect. For the daisy frame, I used a 1 7/8” square piece of whisper white, and then a 2” piece of so saffron.

I used the crinkle white ribbon, two leaves from an older blossom builder punch, and then a gold metallic pearl embellishment. The “Friend” stamp is in the Daisy Lane set, and just help keep the card simple, but sweet.

It’s your time to shine…

I CASE’d this card from Pinterest, with my own twist on it. The card came together easy, with just a few of the same steps applied above.

Colors are Mossy Meadow cardstock & Ink, Whisper White, and Mango Melody ink for the pop of color on the daisy. Used Linen Thread and gold metallic pearls.

Smile

Years ago, when living in the Northwest, my Shasta Daisy patch made me smile and my heart fill with happiness!

For Southern California, there are daisies that bloom year around and the colors are endless! I love to go through my flower beds and check on my daisies. The pretty little card on the left reminds me of my African Daisy in my yard!

Just seeing them make me smile!
