Forever Blossoms Stamps set & Cherry Blossom Dies
Forever Blossoms is a lovely cling stamp set that was introduced by Stampin’ Up! in the January - June 2020 Mini Catalog, but can be purchased in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog, and found on page 68! I love researching the actual blossoms before I get carried away, as it challenges me to get the colors right. I noticed right away that the leaves do not turn really green until the blossoms are nearly ready to drop for the fruit. This prompted me to get the Cherry Cobbler (of course) stamp in pad to stamp the images.
The set has this amazing set of dies called Cherry Blossoms that match the cling set of stamps so images do not need to be cut out by hand to get that stunning 3D affect for your cards, home art or scrap booking pages. The die set can be found in the catalog on page 180.
I used Stampin’ Up’s Whisper White cardstock for the base card, and then used Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green cardstock for accent. For Inks, I used Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green. I stamped the image with Cherry Cobbler ink, because I am not a fan of always outlining an image with black. This means my image can bleed a little if I want to watercolor it, but that was my hope as I wanted to soften the image to help it look as real as possible. I used the blender pen to soften all the lines and heavy inked areas. I added color to deepen the centers and leaves as needed. See below for the supplies needed for this card.
If you want a 3D card, but do not want to stamp the image, you can create gorgeous 3D blossom cards with the Cherry Blossom dies. The photo above has no stamping with the exception of the greeting. All the blossoms are die cuts within the set! I again used Whisper White cardstock for the base, layered with the Gold Foil designer paper, accented with Basic Black and Blushing Bride. The flowers are Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Soft Foam, Cherry Cobbler and the Gold Foil for that extra pop.
I used the Lasting Elegance dies for the lovely framing on the card base, the Wild Rose die for the verse gold frame, and the Stitched Nested Labels for the white verse frame. I layered small strips of gold foil behind the cuts made by the Lasting Elegance dies, and for the verse, I used small piece of black behind the white, hand cut for a subtle accent. The verse was stamped with Stazon black ink and is from the Free as a Bird cling stamp set. See below for supplies to make this card.
