Flowering Zinnia Suite Collection

Simply Zinnia

I am obsessed by zinnias right now. I really miss my California flower garden (it was nearly my entire backyard) as we are headed into the last few weeks of winter. I just got my zinnia seed packets (from Floret Flowers) today and the color variations are AMAZING and look so lovely!!

Three times a year, Stampin’ Up! will be releasing Online Exclusive product, and I am in love with the Flowering Zinnia Suite Collection, coming March 5, 2024. The suite is including the Simply Zinnia Bundle with 7 lovely stamps and 15 dies that either cut out the stamped images or building beautiful zinnias. The suite also includes the Flower Zinnia 12”x12” DSP, Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder, and the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins. The primary colors of the lovely suite is Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist, Lemon Lolly, Melon Mambo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red.

Thank you so much

For this week’s Marvelous Monday FB Live, I featured the brilliant Flowering Zinnia Suite Collection, along with the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White 12”x12” Glimmer Specialty Paper. I showed that while the colors are bright, there are options to tone it down and still use the amazing DSP.

This lovely card was designed for my 20 card Online Exclusive SSFL swap I sent out this week. I can’t wait to see what they send me back. By using a predominately white card front, it tones down the brightness of the flower while making their loveliness pop.

As usual, I started with an A2 Basic White Thick CS base. I used a 4”x5-1/4” layer of DSP. I then glued down a 3-5/8”x4-7/8” layer of Lemon Lime CS (die cut out the leaf & stem first), with a 3-1/2”x4-3/4” layer of Basic White CS on top, embossed with the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut a 3/4”x4” piece of the matching DSP, a 4”x1/2” piece of Olive Green Glimmer Paper and flagged them with the Banner Pick A Punch. I stamped the sentiment in Berry Burst Classic Stamp Pad ink on a 2-1/2”x3/4” piece of Basic White CS and flagged it as well. I staggered each one, trimming as needed, glued the two lower layers, then popped up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I fussy cut out the flowers from the DSP. Just so you know, 1 and a half sheet of the 12”x12” DSP made enough flowers for 24 cards! That’s a lot!! My last touch was adding the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins in coordinating colors.

Sending Flowers

I demonstrated this card as well to again show that while I love the vibrant colors of the zinnias, sometimes it can be too much and so I used a layer of the Vellum CS, embossed with the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder. It allows there to be a pretty focal point and your eye can land on the lovely flowers and enjoy the colors.

I added a 4-1/8”x5-3/8” layer of Blackberry Bliss CS to an A2 Basic White Thick CS base. I then adhered the embossed vellum to a 4”x5-1/4” layer of DSP, then wrapped some 3/4” Herringbone Ribbon in white, with a layer of Lemon Lime Ribbon Duo Combo Pack ribbon, then glued it down to the Blackberry Bliss layer.

I popped up 3 fussy cut flowers to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White CS, them fussy cut out the “Sending Flowers”. I then added Lemon Lime Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.
