HOOT! HOOT!
This little owl is BIG on personality! I had fun creating this card for my upline swap this week using the Adorable Owls (FREE with a $50 purchase) stamp set and the (FREE with $100 purchase) Dandy Designs 12”x12” DSP! The colors are fun and make amazing cards even better!
This sweet little owl was stamped using Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of 2-3/8”x3-1/2” of Basic White CS, colored using Stampin’ Blends in Gray Granite, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Bermuda Bay, and Pale Papaya.
What started as an oops, caught my eye as a great way to achieve texture for feathers. I accidently colored his eyes and tummy the dark blend, so came back with the Lifter around the eyes and tummy. I used the Lifter around the eyes from the center out and I thought it gave the look of feathers! For his adorable eyes, I used Bermuda Bay Light around the pupil, then Pool Party dark around the outside of the iris!
For this card, I used 5-1/2”x8-1/2” piece of Pool Party CS, folded in half for the base. I cut a 4-1/8”x5-3/8” layer of Basic White CS, then glued a 2”x4” and a 4”x4” piece of FREE Dandy Designs DSP, and wrapped it in the new Pool Party 3/8” Grosgrain Ribbon, then tied a knot!
I layered the owl with a 2-1/2”x3-5/8” Pool Party CS, and a 2-5/8”x3-3/4” of Fresh Freesia CS, then popped it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Hoot! Hoot! sentiment was stamped using Coastal Cabana ink and layered on an extra scrap of the Dandy Design DSP and popped up. The final touch is the Pool Party Solid Faceted Gems. Cute Hoot!!
