Mini Pocket Envelope Treats

As I have mentioned before, I love making cute treat holders for my customers that attend my classes, and for the June class, I used the fun and versatile Mini Pocket Envelope die. As I was featuring the Abigail Rose Suite Collection for my class, I thought the pairing would be sweet and I could shore more of the DSP as well.

For You

The Mini Pocket Envelope die is not featured with a stamp set, but is shown on page 27 and 172 in the 2022-23 Annual Catalog. It makes for a great pocket in your cards for gift cards or cash and can be a treat holder and so much more. I love the Abigail Rose DSP so much and wanted my class attendees to see all the different papers in a unique way. I also wanted to show them the floral arrangement these flowers could make instead of the watercolored flowers we made in the card shown in my prior post.

To get my stamps lined up, I used the die and lined up the rubber stamps on my Stamparatus clear plate. That way, I could stamp the images once on Very Vanilla CS using the Stamparatus, then die cut all four blooms at once as well. For the leaves, I used Old Olive CS, and die cut out the top 6 leaves from the die, wasting as little CS as possible.

For each of the pockets, I found that if I was careful, I could get 3 pockets from one 12”x6” piece of Abigail Rose 12”x12” Designer Series Paper. I found that I could switch directions to get them to fit, but that meant some of patterns don’t work, so flipped those to use the other side of the DSP… ‘ya got to be clever to save!

I folded at all the embossed score lines, then folded over the tabs of the pocket and used Tear & Tape Adhesive on the two flaps to put the pocket together.

I used the sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set, but used the sentiment die from the Mini Pocket Envelope die set. I stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Very Vanilla CS.

I also used the cute little bow from the Mini Pocket Envelope die set with Petal Pink CS. The die has a long part at the top that is meant to be the knot in the bow.

I use a round pen or tool to curve the bows so they do not fold, but stay big and round. I put them together using Glue Dots. The split for the ribbon legs was too short for my liking, so I clipped it up so they look like they overlap.

For the flowers, I colored the petals using the Petal Pink Blends with Old Olive (light) Blend for the centers. I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to place the sentiment on the right side, then the bow, then the smaller flowers tucked under the bow and sentiment, and last the leaf sprigs to the side and tops of the four flowers.

As you may note, one of the examples does not have the die cut flowers. I found that the DSP print was pretty enough to color instead of add the flowers and leaves, so used the same Petal Pink Blends and Old Olive Blends and the same sentiment and bow. For a final flourish, I used the Elegant Faceted Gems in Petal Pink. So stinkin’ cute and yet lovely as well. I think they would make such pretty wedding or shower favors as well!
