Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternate Cards & Scrapbooking

Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin Kit

Oh my... what a stunning kit the Painted Petals July 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit turned out to be! For today’s Fri-Yay Kit-Together FB Live, I made two scrapbook pages and 6 alternate cards with the kit, all with only two sets of 3 cards... and I still have one set of cards left to make!! Every piece of the gorgeous kit are wonderful, including the sweet sentiments!! I am so sad the refills are gone already!

Alternate Cards #1

For the first set of stunning alternate cards, I made them by cutting each of the card bases in half. I used the back of the card, a 3-1/2”x4-3/4” layer of Fluid Watercolor Paper washed with coordinating colors and then the floral pre-cut flowers, tag and sentiments all layered on a Basic White Thick CS A2 base.

See my video link for the colors I used… more photos below…

Alternate Cards #2

For the 2nd set of alternate cards, I felt the front of the cards were so beautiful, I could not just cover them up, so used the gorgeous card front from the kit and glued it to an A2 Basic White Thick card base. I used scraps from the inside of the envelopes from the scrapbook page, and added the sentiment tags from the kit. The kit provided 16 sentiment tags that are pre-cut to match the sentiments… so wonderful for lots of alternate cards!! I used Mossy Meadow ink and my Water Painters on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, then using the leaf die from the Add-On, Every Celebration Dies to create the leaves. Soooo very lovely and so easy!!

Friends like you…

I am so in love with this scrapbook layout of my sweet friend when we were traveling the California Coast to Paso Robles for wine tours in 2016. I used just one of the kit cards and pieces, along with the leaf from the Add-On Every Celebration Dies and a Deckled Circle Die cut in Mellow Moss CS. I started by adding Melon Mango & Berry Burst ink in a watercolor wash and splatter using my largest Water Painter brush, then adhering the circle, and the front and then back of the cards. I find that if you use a 3-1/2”x5” photo and cut it down to 3-1/2”x4-3/4”, it fits perfectly in our card base piece! After laying out everything, I cut apart one of the coordinating envelopes to add the fussy cut flowers to the corner and the inside of the envelope behind pieces of the scrapbook page base, tearing away the white CS base for a peek of pink.

I’m so lucky…

This sweet layout was a little simpler. I used Calypso Coral and Mellow Moss ink to add splatters across my page. I again used the card base back for my photos and the card base front, put together per the kit instructions. I again fussy cut out the flowers from the envelope fronts and added them to the layout, then once again added parts of the inside of the envelope behind the scrapbook page and tore away the white cardstock to show a peek of color. Sentiments were stamped in Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow Ink. I am so temped to make two more scrapbook pages with my remaining 3 cards… yummy!!

My video link and additional photos below show how I put it together…
