All Things Fabulous

This weekend I played (for the first time) with All Things Fabulous photopolymer stamp set and Fabulous Florals Dies. I love my garden roses and found this set so appealing. I purchased this set probably 10 months ago and then got so busy with new catalogs, Sale-a-brations, etc., it sat untouched and collecting dust. I had a birthday swap coming up, and thought I would dig it out and have some fun. I suggest you find a video that helps explain how to use this lovely set (Marcie Besecker has a good one). After watching some YouTube videos, I was able to learn the trick to line up the image to apply the ink to these pretty roses and achieve the 3D effect that makes this stamp set so gorgeous (hint, start with darkest color and center stamp)!

Happy Birthday To You

I just love the trellis die that comes with the gorgeous Fabulous Floral Dies, but when you have to make a bunch of cards, picking out and then cleaning up tiny pieces of paper can make a woman crazy (and excite the cats), I decided to use one of the acetate (Window sheets) you get with the newer Photopolymer dies and cut out a template using the die and then blend the outline of the trellis instead. It worked so well, I am going to do this more often!!

I cut a 3-1/4”x4-1/2” piece of Shimmery White CS. I then used Pear Pizzazz ink and a Blender Brush and created the trellis outline. I glued this piece on 3-3/8”x4-5/8” piece of Polished Pink CS and then glued it on my Basic White CS Base. I used Polished Pink and Magenta Madness inks for the pink rose and Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks for the purple roses. Pear Pizzazz ink was used for the leaves and little light green buds as well. All those pieces were popped up using Stampin Dimensionals. The wonderful thing about this set is you can use either the same color and stamp off for lighter shades or you can use coordinating colors. I did a little of both. The little green buds was just stamped off, and the stems are full strength ink. The verse is from Best Year stamp set, the ink color is Gorgeous Grape, and the label die is from the sweet little Pierced Bloom Dies popped up on Stampin Dimensionals. The last item was the opaque Elegant Faceted Gems. more card ideas below… Enjoy!
