Garden Birdhouses

For those of you who have been reading my ramblings over the last nearly two years, you know I LOVE my garden. I was privileged to gain a certified Wildlife Refuge for birds, butterflies and bees when we purchased our home. As long as I maintain a place for them to drink and their necessary food, I can continue to maintain the refuge.

Along with my garden is a penchant for birdhouses, so when I saw Garden Birdhouses form Stampin’ Up!, I knew it would be a fun one to play with.

Birthday Wishes

For this cute card and layout, I used the #tgifc368 to not only challenge me, but my team as well. I got my Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, my Water Painters, and some inks. After stamping on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in Stazon Black ink, I took Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and the new Parakeet Party ink and colored up the two of my favorite birdhouses. I like to decide what angle the sun is coming from and the pole’s the birdhouses are on told me to keep the right side of my image light and darken the left side. After, I fussy cut them both out for my card.

For my layers, I started with Basic White Thick CS cut to 5-1/2”x8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4” and folded. I then took a 4-1/8”x5-3/8” piece of Basic White CS and embossed it with the lovely new Painted Posies 3D embossing folder (soooo pretty, it was hard to cover up), and then glued it to my card front. I used two of the Blushing Bride printed Tea Boutique 6”x6” DSP for my next two layers (3”x4-3/4” & 2-1/2”x3-3/4”), and popped them both up. Before placing my 2nd layer of DSP, I used the soon to be retired 1/8” Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack to add a pretty frayed layer to the card.

My sentiment was also stamped using Stazon Black Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and then I ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the tag from the new Mini Pocket Envelope Dies from the 2022-23 Annual Catalog.

I adhered my birdhouses by using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then added my sentiment with Dimensionals as well. My final touch was the Brushed Brass Butterflies (a new favorite). Don’t forget to decorate your envelope. I used more of the Tea Boutique DSP to cover my flap.

I hope you enjoy this stamp set as much as I do. Reach out if you have any questions.
