Sending Smiles Bundle

Sending Smiles Bundle gave me sweet surprise…

It not only had a cheerful set of flowers, but also has a little lavender bud as well. Lavender is one of my favorite perennials and is hardy yet lovely blossom my garden bees enjoy, even in our drought stricken SoCal climate.

I actually purchased the Sending Smiles Bundle because I love the nesting “Sending” sentiment! I love the look and instead of having to fussy cut, you can use dies instead! Bliss!

Sending Love & …

This sweet card was for an upline swap. I do tend to get carried away with layers when I am making cards for my upline, so this is a more artfully avid card. I got to combine my favorite new In Color Orchard Oasis (which looks like a sweet periwinkle/lavender shade), with my favorite perennial, lavender.

My card base in Orchard Oasis CS is 8-1/2”x5-1/2”, scored and folded at 4-1/4”. I then used a Vellum CS layer, embossed with the new Fern 3D embossing folder, adhered to the card base with Glue Dots.

I then added a layer of Evening Evergreen CS (3-1/2”x3-1/2”) and a layer of the 2022-24 In Color 6”x6” Assorted DSP in Orchard Oasis (3”x3”), popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the lavender leaves and buds and because I was making 10, I used an 8-1/2”x3-3/4” piece of Basic White CS. I then used Evening Evergreen ink to stamp a bunch of leaves with stems, stamping twice or three times before re-inking to give a feeling of depth. I then mixed my buds with Orchid Oasis alone and stamping in Fresh Freesia ink with a little Orchid Oasis ink added with a Sponge Dauber, stamping again more than once before re-inking to get more depth in the image. I cut the 8-1/2” length into 2-1/2” widths for each card, gluing it onto the other two pieces of CS.

I stamped extra lavender buds so I could have 3 for each card. I popped them up over the stamped buds with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Before die cutting the “Sending” sentiment, I added Adhesive Sheets to the back of some scrap Orchid Oasis CS so I would not have to glue it to the die cut Basic White CS shadow and popping it up with dimensionals. I stamped the rest of the sentiment on Basic White CS in Orchid Oasis ink, popping it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. I added three Brushed Brass Butterflies for the final touch.
