Shimmery White Embossing Paste & Masks

I was a bit intimidated by embossing paste until I used it for my Christmas wreath in my Iconic Die post.

When using the paste with a Decorative Mask, it is a lot easier to use than I thought and seems to dry quickly (if not too thick), and adds so much depth and loveliness to your card.

Thank you for…

I challenged my team to meet in person or via zoom so we could try embossing paste. I only had the Shimmery Embossing Paste, and we used the New Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks. There is so much to love about the masks, but I will post more about that later.

I used two or three drops of the Pale Papaya re-inker with about a 1/2 teaspoon of paste on my Silicone Mat to get the color you see on the card.

My card base is Basic White Thick CS, 8-1/2”x5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”. I used a layer of Shimmery White CS for the layer (4”x5-1/4”), die cuts from the Flowers of Home dies, and for the sentiment from the Blessings of Home stamp set, cut with the Painted Label die.

Once I have my cardstock layer ready, I lay the mask over it and hold it with my fingers. I used one of the Palette Knives from Stampin’ Up! to smear the Shimmery White Embossing Paste over the desired area of the mask. I make sure that I don’t make the paste thicker than the mask, so take off any excess before lifting the mask.

The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink, popped up on Stampin Dimensionals. I then added the In-Color Jewels in Pale Papaya as well.

Because of You

This pretty little card was a bit of scraps and intentional items thrown together. I used the Shimmery White Embossing Paste again with a couple of drops of Polished Pink re-inker on my Silicone Mat. For this card, I used one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks.

My card base is Basic White Thick CS, 8-1/2”x5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”. I used a layer of Basic White CS for the embossed layer (4”x5-1/4”).

After it dried, I layered with the Iconic Dies for the fern in Basic White CS, with the foliage in Vellum CS from the Meadow Dies. I added a pretty doily in Vellum CS from the Encircled in Beauty Dies, with the verse in Polished Pink ink on Basic White CS, from the Encircled In Friendship stamp set, and die cut using the Painted Label dies.

The foliage was glued down using Glue Dots, along with the doily. The verse was popped up using Stampin Dimensionals. I added the lovely Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the final touch. I just love this card!!

You’re the Best

This cheerful little card was made with the same elements as all the above. The mask is from the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks set, but this time I added Pool Party re-inker drops to the Shimmery White Embossing Paste.

My card base is Pool Party CS, 8-1/2”x5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”. I used a layer of Basic White CS for the embossed layer (4”x5-1/4”).

I once again added the doily in Vellum CS from the Encircled in Beauty Dies, with the verse in Pool Party ink on Basic White CS, from the Encircled In Friendship stamp set, and this time die cut using the Encircled in Beauty Dies.

I used the Medium Daisy punch in both Pool Party CS and Vellum CS, layering them so the daisies are fuller. I will curve the petals using the side of my finger or my bone folder (gently) and glue them together, then pop them up using Stampin Dimensionals. For the embellishment, I used the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Coastal Cabana. Super cute!!
