Sun Prints Suite Collection

Hello There…

May is the start of Stampin’ Up!’s new 2022-23 Annual Catalog and we kicked it off with fabulous projects. For May’s stamp class, I featured mostly the stunning Sun Prints Suite Collection for the projects and to make sure everyone had a father’s day card, we made one other from He’s The Man blog post.

This sweet little card lets the beautiful Sun Prints 12”x12” Designer Series Paper do all the heavy lifting. The paper has beautiful prints of foliage, just like you may have tried as a child in school, but with so much more detail. I found a fun site that sells Sunprint kits, and you can try it with your littles as well.

The DSP has lovely shades of Night of Navy and the gorgeous new Stary Sky, but I chose navy for this card.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I love it when Stampin’ Up!’s catalog has so many beautiful ideas that I must CASE (copy and share everything) then show my customers how they can make the cards too. This CASE’d card (from page 90 in the 2022-23 Annual Catalog) is just lovely and is actually much easier to achieve than it looks. We used the Craft Stampin’ Ink pad and Fern 3D embossing folder to add the sunprint look to our cardstock.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR THIS PROJECT

Fern 3D Embossing Folder #158804

Craft Stampin’ Ink in White #101780

Basic White Thick CS #159229 - card base 5-1/2”x8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”

Medium Envelopes Basic White #159236

Brushed Metallic Dots #156506 – 3 ea.

1/8” Metallic Woven Ribbon #159198 (in Starry Sky) – approx. 8”

CARD INSTRUCTIONS:

Fold and braise your Basic White CS card base. Emboss the Starry Night CS layer with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Take brayer and run across Craft Stampin Ink pad, then lightly run across your embossed CS until all the raised areas are lighter (this can also be achieved using a sponge or Sponge Dauber). Once dry, glue this layer to your card base.

Using the Starry Sky ink, stamp your sentiment and foliage on your Basic White CS, then die cut them out. Using your die cut sentiment, hold it against one end of the Gray Granite DSP and cut the sentiment shape from the bottom of the DSP. Pop up your DSP layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals, the pop up your sentiment above the DSP. Using Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals, add your foliage at an angel across both the sentiment and DSP. Tie a bow with your Metallic Woven Ribbon and add to foliage stems. Add the Brushed Metallic Dots for your embellishment.

Best Whishes & Happy Thoughts

Whenever I have a chance, I like to show my customers that though I tend towards the artfully avid cards, the casual or #simplestamping can be just as beautiful as well. The Sun Prints Suite Collection has lovely DSP, but once it is gone, I like to show my customers that the stamps and dies in the bundle lend themselves to gorgeous cards too. Whether you like simple or layers, there is something for everyone!

Emboss this layer with the Fern 3D EF, then take your scissors or your fingernail and rough up the edges. Glue it down to the Orchid Oasis layer, then pop it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals on your card base.

Using your larger Basic White CS piece, stamp your foliage and sentiment then die cut the four items. Pop up your sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals in the lower right-hand corner, then start adding the foliage with a mix of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots, starting first with the Assorted DSP piece in Parakeet Party and layering up. Add your Matt Decorative Dots for embellishment in either Orchid Oasis or Parakeet Party.
